In memory of Sgt. Gabriel Glenn DeRoo. Killed in action in Mosul, Iraq. Sunday August 20th, 2006. He leaves behind his dear wife Hannah and their little son Gabriel. Our hearts are broken because he has left us, but we rejoice because he is in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It is so heartbreaking. Gabe left behind a true legacy, that is for sure. Our prayers for Hannah, little Gabriel, and the Suko family!

I only knew him through your photos but my heart aches for his wife and little one. That the Lord will comfort and strengthen her is my prayer, but I know that will take a while. ec
I'm so saddened by this news. I know that Hannah and little Gabe are in good hands with their deep faith, and with the love and integrity of their family.I'm also heartened by your friendship with Hannah. God bless all of you.
Annie, thank you for honoring Gabe in this way. Hannah is blessed to have such a good friend. She and little Gabriel continue to be in our hearts and prayers as we trust God to give her comfort and strength and peace that passes all understanding.
This is such tragic news. I am so sorry Annie, for your loss. I have no idea how anyone can survive such a loss as your friend Hannah has. My prayers are with Hannah and her little baby.
Hi! My name is Gretchen Sonntag, and I am from Michigan. I am so thankful for your work on this site. I found it last week, but for some reason could not leave you a comment. Gabriel and my three boys were good friends in their younger years while homeschooling. Gabe spent many days and nights at our home. He was indeed a fine young man. Your pictures mean so much to those of us who have not had the opportunity to see him face to face since he has been in the service . . . and now we won't see him until we join him at the end of our own journeys. I understand that Ft. Lewis is planning to have their ceremony today and tomorrow there will be another at Hannah's church. Dave and Laura (Gabe's parents) and the girls flew out on Saturday to have some time to spend with Hannah and little Gabe. I am glad Hannah has a good friend like you to see her through the days and months to come.
I guess I should have left my email address . . . just in case.
