A Year in Pictures...

Here are 12 of my favorite pictures from the past year. It's always hard to stick to just 12 since I have many pictures from this year that I love, but I did my best.

Daniel's First French Fry

While we were in Seattle the other day we went to Ivar's for lunch. Daniel got his first try at sitting in a high chair in a restaurant and he loved it. Everyone told me I should give him a french fry. He loved it and just sucked on it until it was pretty much mush.

Eva-Karin and Garry's Visit

We have had a wonderful visit with my cousin Eva-Karin and her husband Garry (from LA). They celebrated their first anniversary on the 27th.

On Monday we headed up to Mt. Rainier to play in the snow. Sadly, Ruh had to work so he didn't get to come with us. The day was sunny and gorgeous and even though some clouds decided to hide the mountain the majority of the time it would still peek through the clouds occasionally. We took a short walk on some groomed paths and really wished we had snowshoes. I put Daniel in the snuggli and boy is he getting heavy! He is a lot heavier than when we went on hikes this past summer. I'm thinking it's time to buy a backpack for him to be carried in.
You can see part of Mt. Rainier peeking out by my green hat in the picture below. The hat is from Vietnam from Mai Huong, my brother's fiance. I LOVE it!

We also took a day trip to Seattle on the ferry. We walked along the waterfront, ate lunch at Ivar's and walked through Pike Place Market.

Daniel was a little trooper.

First Official Post Back in the Blogging World

As my first official post back in the blogging world I thought I would post the video I made of our trip to Mammoth and Yosemite this last summer. Now that the holidays are coming to a close I really start to look forward to the arrival of spring and summer. Watching this video gets me all excited for that first hike of the season. I know I have a few more months to go and I plan on filling up the winter months with sewing projects, cooking new, healthy recipes, training for my first 5K race I plan on running with my sis-in-law Ruhiyyih and watching my little guy grow everyday. Also the winter Olympics are coming and that is always something to look forward to. Enjoy the video!

I'm back...

Well, at least I am back for a little bit. I am not sure how long I will have internet but I am in the process of finding a new template for my blog and planning some new posts. I think I really like this notebook template. :)

Summer Update...

I have lots and lots of pics and video from our awesome summer! Once again we don't have internet at our house so I will be putting up posts when I am able. I am able to check my e-mail at my parent's house and every once in a while I will take the computer to Starbucks to use the free wi-fi there. Plus I am having too much fun being outside so I'm not doing much on the computer anyway! :) I promise I haven't gone away!

Oh summer...

Here is a little picture of what I have been up to! :)
I am just letting everyone know that we are now in LA after spending a week in Montana visiting Ruh's aunt and uncle and hiking in Glacier National Park. On Friday we will be heading from here to the High Sierras, Mammoth and Yosemite for more hiking! Most of my mom's side of the family will be in Mammoth so it is going to be a lot of fun! Once we get home to beautiful Western Washington I will be posting LOTS of pictures and video!

Daniel's First Camping Trip

So we haven't had internet for a while and it is getting pretty frustrating. So I am writing this post at Starbucks using the free wireless with my registered Starbucks card. I get 2 free hours everyday. Of course I won't be coming to Starbucks everyday to use the internet but I figure once a week is good. Daniel is at home with Daddy and I am getting a little time to myself. And Starbucks is a pretty nice place to go on the internet if I do say so myself. How many people can say they have a job that they enjoy going in to work even when they are on maternity leave?! All the girls are really excited to see me too but a little bummed I don't have Daniel with me. I have brought him in once and I will bring him in many more times I am sure.

But anyway, we went camping in the Cascades with Ruh's parents and my sis-in-law Ruhiyyih this past week. We made a bed for me in the back of our Rav4 and put Daniel in a Rubbermaid container to sleep in next to me. He and I stayed toasty and it made those middle of the night feedings a lot easier not being in a tent. The first couple of days were a little difficult and I was wondering what in the world I was doing but then I adjusted and it was a lot of fun. I am so glad Daniel and I went and I can't wait for our next camping trip.

Just a little video...

Here is a short little video of Daniel! He has the hiccups. He got them all the time when he was in my tummy and it seems like he still gets them all the time now! :)

Daniel

Right now our internet is down so I can't post updates! I am at my mom's right now so I thought I would use her computer to let everyone know. I will have more pictures and the whole story up soon! :)
