Dannells Camping Trip #3

We went on a 7 mile round trip hike up to Lower Lena Lake. The hike was beautiful. Being out in God's creation was so energizing. The hike was very strenuous but I enjoyed the exercise. The view once we got to the top was well worth the climb.

I'll re-do my comment since you've reformatted your post, Annie....I had mentioned above that Daisy was such a good little trooper. In fact, all of us were, on that climb. 7 miles was quite a stretch, but worth the hike to see that view.

Wow, Annie!! These pics are incredible. I have always heard how majestic and beautiful the Pacific Northwest is and these pics really showcase it. Your daughter is such a trooper to hike up 7 miles- but then again kids seem to have an endless amount of energy. When my sister and I were young my grandfather took us on long hikes quite often and he would lure us into continuing on when we got tired with orange tic tacs. How funny is that?!

Thanks for sharing!

We got our "kitchen-in-a-box" back. Thank you. I was wondering about my favorite hatchet? (Looks like you had a WONDERFUL time!)

Jessie forgot to add that Grandfather would also find huckleberries along the way and call them "energy pellets". =) We did fourteen miles along the Applachian Trail one day, quite by accident. We just kept going and when we looked at the pedometer at turn around time we *knew* we were in for it on the return hike =). I wonder if that was the one where we almost lost Jessie over a cliff...
